Parking for Aldrich Street is available in the McBee District Parking Garage, 1826 McBee St., Simond Garage (Map) and on surrounding streets.

McBee and Simond Garages

  • Fees: $2 per hour
  • Validation is available from most Aldrich Street retailers. Check with individual retailers for validation policies.
  • Maximum daily charge – $10
  • Lost ticket fee – $10
  • Enter and exit within 10 minutes at no charge
  • Motorcycles are not allowed to park in the garage, but may park for free on the street.
  • Both garages offer entrances and exits on the north and south sides of the buildings.
  • Patrons of the Thinkery, Origin Hotel, the Diamond Building (B.D. Riley’s, Lick, etc.), the Cinema Building (Alamo, Colleen’s Kitchen, etc.) and Teachers Retirement System Building (Marafuku, Sweetgreen, etc.) can park in either garage.
  • Patrons of L’Oca d’ Oro, Lady Quack’s and Witchcraft should park in the AMLI garage (access from McBee Street).
  • Kerbey Lane validates in the Texas Mutual garage (access from Garcia Street).

  • Pay-by-phone using the Park Me app, or through credit- and coin-operated meters.
  • Meters currently operate:
    • Monday – Wednesday 10 AM to 8 PM
    • Thursday – Saturday 10AM to midnight
    • Sunday – no charge

Can I pay with cash?

Yes, but if you are paying with cash, you must use a Pay-On-Foot station or the South / McBee exit (credit cards can be used at any exit or Pay-On-Foot stations).

Can I park in the Lake Park parking lot?

The Lake Park parking lot is intended for park goers only. Visitors to Aldrich Street including the Alamo Drafthouse or the Thinkery should only park in the McBee Garage or in on-street parking. Towing may be enforced in the Lake Park parking lot.

Can I park on the streets near Aldrich Street without meters?

Yes, but be aware, Residential Permit Parking (RPP) is in place on nearby residential streets identified with red and white signage. Please be aware that City of Austin permits are required to park in these areas during the times designated on the signs. RPP is enforced by the City of Austin and violations can be ticketed.
